Politics, Inflation, And The Politics Of Inflation
So I went out and voted yesterday. I registered as a Democrat and voted for all 6 Obama delegates. What? Did you think I was going to vote for Hillary? Hitlery Clinton? The Wicked Witch Of The Midwest? Hell no! But this brings me to a very important point, which is that time and again it seems we have to resort to 'defensive voting'. Why do I always have to vote against the greater evil instead of voting for the candidate I really support? If it were up to me I'd register as Republican and vote for Ron Paul. Now wait wait wait! I'm not about to drink a bunch of colloidal silver, put on a tin foil hat and hide out in a shack in the woods waiting for the rapture. But I do agree with Dr. Paul's anti-inflation stance as well as his desire to dismantle our unholy fascist tax system that serves the rich at the expensive of the poor. Speaking of which, it seems Adolf Bush has another tax break for the rich coming while us peasants get a whopping $300 or so back from the government. Wow, $300!!!! What am I going to do with all that money? Maybe I'll buy a house. Maybe I'll pay off my student loans or buy a car. Maybe I'll do all 3!!! The fact of the matter is that the system is broken beyond all repair and some charismatic Kennedy-esque democratic president isn't going to do enough to bring about the needed change. We need something on a grander scale. We need a real solution. Now why am I so anti-inflation? Because contrary to popular belief inflation is not a force of nature. It doesn't 'just happen'. Inflation is a byproduct of rampant government corruption. It is the result of a central bank printing too much money, either literally or electronically. More money chasing the same amount of goods and services causes rising prices. It's simple economics. Now if all prices rose at the same rate this wouldn't be a problem—we could all just keep tacking zeros onto the end of our price tags and be done with it. But unfortunately inflation does not operate that way and all boats don't lift at the same time. What actually happens with runaway inflation is that prices on the most valued commodities and services such as FOOD and ENERGY tend to rise faster than everything else, which is what we saw in revolutionary France in the 1790's, what we saw in Weimar Germany in the early 1920's, and WHAT WE'RE SEEING TODAY IN THE UNITED STATES. When this happens the middle and lower classes—those who unfortunately have few savings, are not educated enough to save properly in troubled economic times, or are living paycheck to paycheck take the brunt of it while the rich skate by with inflation-proof assets like PRECIOUS METALS or stocks in certain key sectors. So in this way inflation really operates like a stealth tax, siphoning wealth from the poor and undereducated who don't even understand the nature of the beast while those in control of the printing press, namely BANKS and PRIMARY SPENDERS of the newly printed currency stand to benefit from an infinite supply of free ponzi fiat money. It's happening again in the US. History is coming full circle and we're seeing massive inflation coming down the pipeline as the government bails out the thieves on Wall Street time and again. This has to stop, and there's no better time than now. The first step is to educate yourself.
- Go onto Amazon and purchase Fiat Money Inflation In France (978-1406930733) by Andrew Dickson White. For a mere $10 (at the time this blog was posted) you can read about a classic inflationary scenario showing how war leads to debt, debt leads to hyperinflation, hyperinflation leads to economic collapse, and the resulting economic collapse leads to the rise of a tyrannical dictator. You don't think it can happen in America? Think again, it's happening now!
- While you're waiting for your book to arrive in the mail go onto Wikipedia and read about the hyperinflation that occurred in the Weimar Republic in Germany. Once again you will see that familar War—Hyperinflation—Revolution—Tyrannical Dicator pattern.
- Then go read my short story Riding On The El Train to catch a glimpse of how this lunatic hyperinflationary path we're going down might end up here, in America.
- Finally, go onto Financial Sense to get some good, uncorporatized information about finance and economics that'll shed some light on just how wrong our American system is and how it became that way in the first place.
Once your mind is open, then you will be ready to take action. The Internet is a wonderful invention. It is a true medium of uncontrolled information interchange. Sure, you will find much misinformation on it but you will also find much of the truth if you know how to look properly. And that true, pure, unpropagandized knowledge will set you free. It is the very antithesis to fascism and tyranny. Go in peace.
